Chilling surveillance footage screened inside the Durban High Court on Monday has placed a figure resembling one of the accused near rapper Kiernan "AKA" Forbes hours before he was fatally shot.
The AKA and Tibz murder trial, now in motion against seven accused men, heard testimony from a surveillance analyst based at King Shaka International Airport on 19 October 2026. The analyst presented CCTV footage that reportedly shows a man trailing the Supa Mega from the airport on the very day he was later shot down alongside his friend, Tibz.
What the CCTV tootage revealed
The footage, described in court as significant to the prosecution's case, captures what appears to be deliberate surveillance of the rapper's movements. The individual seen in the clip bears a resemblance to one of the seven suspects currently facing trial. This detail forms part of the broader effort by prosecutors to establish that the killing was premeditated and carefully coordinated.
AKA and Tibz were shot dead in Durban in February 2023, a moment that sent shockwaves through South Africa's music industry and the wider public.
