The Chicago Bears will be without running back Kyle Monangai for the third straight game after the team ruled him out for Thursday night's Week 7 clash against the New England Patriots.
Monangai is dealing with a turf toe injury and a minor thumb issue, causing him to log DNPs for each of the Bears' three practice sessions this week.
With Monangai out, the Bears will continue to lean on veteran ball carrier D'Andre Swift as their clear lead back. Backup RB Roschon Johnson will also continue his expanded role as a secondary rushing option for the Chicago offense.
In a win over the Atlanta Falcons this past Sunday, Swift and Johnson combined for three rushing touchdowns.
When healthy, Monangai has been an excellent weapon for Ben Johnson's Chicago offense. He has at least 100 rushing yards in two of his four game appearances so far this season — including a 146-yard, two-touchdown performance against the New York Jets in Week 4.

The Bears are 4-2 to begin the 2026 NFL season, looking to maintain their positive momentum into Thursday night's difficult matchup against the 4-2 Patriots.
Thursday's game will kick off at 8:15 p.m. ET.
