It's a massive night for so many reasons.
Tonight, when the NBA kicks off the 2026-2027, all eyes will be in New York, and it's not just because the champs will raise their banner.
It will be a rematch of the second round of the playoffs, where the New York Knicks swept the Philadelphia 76ers out of the playoffs. But this is a different Philly team.
Much different.
The Sixers return star big man Joel Embiid, last year's promising rookie VJ Edgecombe and star guard Tyrese Maxey, but it's the two additions most are excited about. LeBron James, who signed as a free agent during the offseason, is the biggest addtion. Just as vital is guard Jaylen Brown.
The visitors come in with high hopes, but so do the Knicks, who ended a 53 year championship draught in June. New York returns most of its lineup, and will be looking to prove their still the bullies on the block in the game against Philly.
