Agartala, October 12, 2026: In a major step towards strengthening cricket infrastructure in Tripura, the state government has allotted 30.30 acres of land at Sekerkote to the Tripura Cricket Association (TCA) for establishing a cricket academy.
The association has been directed to deposit ₹6,81,75,000 with the Revenue Department as the cost of the allotted land, TCA Secretary Subrata Dey said at a press conference held at the Club House of MBB Stadium, Agartala recently.
Announcing the development, Dey expressed hope that the formal process of transferring the land would be completed shortly, paving the way for the proposed academy to take shape.
The facility is expected to provide aspiring cricketers with improved opportunities for training, skill development and professional growth. Once established, the academy could play an important role in nurturing emerging talent from different parts of the state and strengthening Tripura’s cricketing prospects.
The proposed project marks a significant development for the TCA’s efforts to improve training infrastructure and create better opportunities for local players to advance in the sport.
