The Indian Institute of Educational Theatre (IIET) has announced a seven-day activity-based summer camp for children titled ‘PLAY’, aimed at encouraging hands-on exploration, craftsmanship, and creative expression. The camp will take place from October 12 to 18 at the Hardwicke School premises on JLB Road here.
Designed for children aged 8 to 15 years, the workshop will run daily from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The initiative offers a dynamic environment where young participants can engage with clay, nature, colors, and recyclable materials alongside their peers.
A press release said that children will experiment directly with various materials to discover new forms of artistic expression. In the storytelling sessions, engaging narratives designed to stimulate imagination, critical thinking, and communication skills will be conducted. Carefully selected children’s movies curated to entertain and spark meaningful ideas will be screened in the film screening sessions. Also, interactive guidance on creating art using daily items and recyclable waste materials will be provided, the release added.
All primary art supplies required for the activities will be provided by the organisers. Children may occasionally be asked to bring safe, recyclable waste materials from home for specific projects. Parents are requested to pack daily lunch and send water bottle for their child.
The participation fee for the 7-day camp is ₹3,000 per child. Seats are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. For registrations and further inquiries, contact 9686892255.
