The family of a barman who died after being assaulted in Glasgow city centre say they are “overwhelmed” after £30,000 was raised for his funeral.
Daniel Colrain, 21, died in hospital after being attacked at Royal Exchange Square in the early hours of Sunday, October 4.
Former Partick Thistle youth goalkeeper Luis Cameron appeared in court last week, charged with culpable homicide and attempting to pervert the course of justice.
The 19-year-old made no plea during a private hearing at Glasgow Sheriff Court and was granted bail and committed for further examination.

‘Eternally grateful’
Tributes were paid to Mr Colrain after his death, including by his former employers at The Smiddy Bar in Cathcart.
The pub also launched a fundraiser to help cover the costs of his funeral, which has now raised more than £30,000.
His family, releasing a statement via the pub’s social media on Sunday, said: “The Colrain family is truly overwhelmed by the response to this page, not just the scale and range of the generosity, but the heart-warming and comforting sentiment and testimonies on Daniel’s character and personality.
“We know how warm and beautiful Daniel’s heart and soul were, and how his smile and positive disposition affected people in significant ways.
“The echoes of love shared by the community will ensure a beautiful and genuine legacy for our beloved son, Daniel. We are eternally grateful to Michael and his wonderful team at the Smiddy, the beating heart of our community.
“To everyone who has donated and left a message of support, love, warmth and well-wishing, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts and the top of our souls; we are both comforted and humbled.
“Please continue to share your favourite stories and memories of Daniel so that the beauty and warmth of his character and spirit create a lasting legacy and indelible imprint on all our lives and our community.”
The Smiddy said last week: “We are completely heartbroken to share that our dear colleague and friend, Daniel, has passed away.
”To know Daniel was to experience his warmth and kindness firsthand.
“Over the past three years at The Smiddy, he built wonderful friendships with every member of our staff and became a cherished part of our close-knit group.
“He knew all of our regulars by name, chatted with them for hours, and was a beloved presence in the community where he grew up.
“He brought so much light to our team and will be dearly, dearly missed.”
