Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq has met with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, hours after his appointment to a key position in the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 general election.
The Kwara State Government confirmed the governor’s visit in a statement made available to journalists on Tuesday.
AbdulRazaq, who chairs the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), was recently named Deputy Vice Chairman III of the APC’s revised Presidential Campaign Council for Tinubu’s re-election campaign.

Photographs released from the meeting showed Tinubu and the Kwara governor together at the Presidential Villa.
The visit comes as the ruling party continues to expand its campaign council ahead of the 2027 presidential election, bringing additional political figures into its re-election structure.
The APC recently updated its presidential campaign council to include several prominent political figures, among them Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike; Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke; and Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
The inclusion of the governors and other political officeholders reflects the party’s efforts to broaden its political network ahead of the next general election.
Soludo’s inclusion has also attracted a response from his party, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
APGA Welcomes Soludo’s Inclusion
APGA described Soludo’s appointment to the APC campaign council as well-deserved, saying it reflected his leadership and commitment to progressive ideals.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Ejimofor Opara, congratulated the Anambra governor and welcomed his participation in the campaign structure.
Opara said Soludo had consistently advocated cooperation between APGA and the Federal Government, arguing that such engagement could advance the interests of Anambra State and the wider Igbo community.
He also referenced Soludo’s mantra, “Progressives are Working Together,” describing it as an expression of the shared ideological outlook he believes exists between APGA and the progressive movement at the federal level.

According to the APGA spokesperson, cooperation between the Anambra State Government and the Federal Government has supported infrastructure development and other economic initiatives in the state.
Opara added that Soludo’s inclusion demonstrated that political parties could collaborate on areas of common interest despite their separate identities.
