Last week, the Good Housekeeping Institute announced the winners of its annual Christmas taste test. The team tasted more than 600 products (I know, tough gig), from mince pies to turkey.
Among the Christmas pudding results, I spotted one I was sure even the naysayers would love: Tesco’s new Christmas Pudding with Guinness and Belgian Chocolate.

The new festive treat has already landed in stores – and while admittedly it's packed with plump vine fruit, it's far from traditional. It's also flavoured with Guinness and Belgian chocolate – much like Nigella's iconic cake. It may even convert a few pudding purists, too.
The GHI awarded the decadent dessert a score of 73/100, describing it as having 'notes of dark chocolate, treacle and caramel notes', while the Guinness adds a delicious malty edge.
Dense and sticky, it's the perfect Christmas pudding for those who don't like Christmas pudding.
At 400g, it's big enough for four to share, and I'd serve with a generous drizzle of double cream. That's Christmas dessert sorted!
