A new leak has now revealed key information on Vivo's upcoming flagship phone, the Vivo X500 Ultra. The X500 Ultra will be one of a select few truly "ultra" devices this generation, following the cancellation of the Xiaomi 18 Ultra months ago.
Vivo launched the X500 series last month in China, with the X500 Pro Max being the company's most premium offering in the lineup so far. As with previous generations, however, an "Ultra" model is slowly being readied, and a new leak has now provided more information on what to expect from the Vivo X500 Ultra.
According to Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the Vivo X500 Ultra is on the way, and will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, in contrast to the MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro on the X500 Pro Max. The X500 Ultra could be slightly larger than the 6.82-inch Vivo X300 Ultra, with a 6.85-inch 2K 144 Hz OLED tipped for the upcoming flagship.
That display is said to sport equal bezels with large rounded corners, with a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint reader integrated, and the panel itself being made by BOE. It's a bit surprising that Vivo could go with a BOE panel here, considering the iQOO 16—a less premium offering from the company—debuted last month featuring Samsung's new M16 OLED panel.
Either way, the source claims the X500 Ultra could debut in March or April 2027, much like its predecessors. As has been reported, while other devices in the X500 series are expected to launch globally, the X500 Ultra could be a China-exclusive model.
