The Kansas City Chiefs will face a former AFC West foe in Week 7: the Seattle Seahawks were a division rival from 1977-2002, when the expansion Houston Texans and Cleveland Browns joined the NFL and the league adjusted to its current four-division format. Seattle moved conferences, and the teams have matched up only seven times since.
On Sunday evening, the franchises will square off again, and Seattle will wear uniforms that may bring back memories of the twice-annual matchups in the 1990s.
If you’re like me, you’ll hope the Chiefs match it with their best kit: white-on-white uniforms.

Seahawks To Wear Throwback Uniforms On Sunday Night Football vs. Chiefs | Seahawks Official Website
The Seattle Seahawks are set to return home to Lumen Field for a Sunday Night Football showdown against the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs in Week 7, and they will wear their 90s-inspired threads for the second time in as many weeks.
Seattle will wear its fan-favorite royal blue and silver throwback uniforms for the ninth time since the team debuted them in the 2023 regular season. The team wore these uniforms three times last season with one game being played in prime time, a 38-14 road win over the Commanders on Sunday Night Football in Week 9.
Kansas City Chiefs WR Xavier Worthy thriving in expanded role as Seahawks loom | ESPN
“People look at him because he’s a little bit smaller and he’s real fast, so they think of him as just a deep threat,” Reid said of Worthy, who is listed at 5-foot-11 and 165 pounds. “We’ve always looked at him like he can run shallow crosses, deep crosses. He can do all that stuff and [is] very good at it. He’s tough and he’s smart, so you can move him around a lot in a lot of different spots.”
In Sunday’s game, Worthy caught the ball on crossing routes, beating zone and man-to-man coverage on different snaps. When the Chiefs asked him to work in the intermediate area of the field, he was able to create proper separation. All told, he led the team with 28 routes.
That leaves trade acquisition Joshua Ezeudu as the next man up at right tackle. The Chiefs acquired Ezeudu from the New York Giants during 53-man roster cuts. Ezeudu filled in for Moore on Sunday after he suffered a concussion against the Chargers. He played just 17 pass-blocking snaps in Week 6 and allowed a single hurry. He also played well in the run game.
Kansas City put him in a good spot to succeed, since he hadn’t taken starting snaps that week. With a full week of practice at right tackle and preparation as the starter, it stands to reason that he could deliver an even better performance against the Seahawks. Who knows, perhaps he outshines Jaylon Moore, who has been rather underwhelming at right tackle this season.
Kenneth Walker III returns to Seattle as Chiefs face Seahawks in Super Bowl MVP’s homecoming | KMBC
“Off to a tremendous start. Stats back it up; tape definitely backs it up. He’s playing great football,” Macdonald said Wednesday.
While Macdonald would probably prefer Walker wasn’t coming back to town with the Chiefs, he’s happy to see him doing well.
“I love Ken. I thoroughly enjoyed him being on our football team,” Macdonald said. “I respect the heck out of him. I’m happy for him.”
Walker now has his second Player of the Week award of this season and fourth overall of his career. He earned his first honor of the season after a 177-yard, two-touchdown performance in a narrow 30-27 win against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 4.
As a result of Walker’s most recent award, a $2,000 donation was made to Kansas City’s local food bank, Harvesters — The Community Food Network.

Cornell Green, Cowboys cornerback part of ‘Doomsday Defense,’ dies at 86 | The Athletic
“We are sad to share news of the passing of Cowboys Legend Cornell Green this morning,” the Cowboys said in a statement released Wednesday. “Cornell was a true trailblazer, having never played football in college, yet becoming a multi-time Pro Bowler, All Pro and NFL Super Bowl Champion with the Cowboys, playing defensive back from 1962 to 1974. He was a member of the 25th Anniversary Cowboys Team as well. Cornell remarkably never missed a game in 13 seasons, becoming one of the best and most dependable teammates to ever wear the star. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.”
Given the unrest in the city, the outside-viewing public has questioned if the game would need to be moved out of Paris and back to the United States. Internally, however, NFL Executive VP of club business, international and league events Peter O’Reilly said Tuesday that there was never a point that the game was in danger of not being played at the Stade de France. That said, the league will have heightened security in the wake of these demonstrations.
“There had been weeks of Troy becoming increasingly cold, difficult, short, making comments,” a source with direct knowledge of the situation told Byers. “Joe finally snapped,” the source told Byers, in reference to the Week 5 incident at the Bills-Rams game. “He basically said, ‘Dude, are we really going to do this?’ And Troy’s position was: You fucked me over!”
Said another unnamed source to Byers, “They exchanged some very direct and honest feelings.”

Chiefs second-year linebacker designated to return from the IR
Last year, after making the team as a rookie minicamp tryout from TCU, McDonald played the third-most special-teams snaps on the Chiefs. Over the final two games of the season, he saw more defensive snaps and totaled 10 tackles (1 for loss) over 47 snaps in Weeks 17 and 18. He made his first career start in the season finale against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Heading into this season, after 25 tackles as a rookie, McDonald was projected as the starting SAM linebacker in the base defense, a role that former Chiefs linebacker Leo Chenal excelled in.
