Julien Stephan is hopeful Boy Kemper will be fit for QPR’s trip to Southampton despite the left-back being forced off in the 5-0 win over Swansea City.
Kemper, who recently returned from an ankle injury suffered on the opening day of the season against Portsmouth, hobbled off late at Loftus Road.
But Stephan suggested the initial signs are positive.
“A knock, probably perhaps two or three or four days,” the Rangers boss told West London Sport.
“I hope it will be okay for Southampton.
“[Medical staff] didn’t tell me that the ankle twisted completely. He’ll have to be assessed in the next 48 hours to know exactly.”
The victory was inspired by Richard Kone, who scored a hat-trick inside 15 minutes as QPR swept Swansea aside.
“During the week, with the quality of the week [in training] he had, we felt that it was the right moment for him to deliver this kind of performance,” Stephan said.
“In my dream, I probably couldn’t have imagined a performance like this, with three goals, but he did everything during the week to prepare for this game in the best way.”
