What to know: For Miriam Alden, her latest collaboration has been a long time coming.
“The Sister x Souer team are dear colleagues and friends of mine and have been for years. We have always talked about partnering and discussed whether it be with my brand or myself personally,” the Vancouver fashion entrepreneur behind the brand Brunette the Label says. “Ultimately, we decided on a personal partnership, as the collaboration and style we decided on feel very special and personal for me.
“It also feels very aligned with my values, as I truly love collaborating with companies that other people may traditionally feel are their competition, I feel the opposite. I think we are all better together.”

The result of the partnership is a singular boot style. Made in Italy, the squared-toe design is crafted from a mock crocodile embossed leather material.
“We went back and forth about whether we would do a knee-high or an ankle boot, but ultimately decided that this boot height is the perfect everyday boot,” Alden says of the design. “It’s very versatile as well as very chic … ”
As for the trending faux crocodile, the designer says it’s a “key” part of her wardrobe.
“I am an all-black-everything girl, so the combination of the style, colour and embossed croc detail felt very special,” she says.
Alden says the stylish ankle boots combine comfort with chic wearability.
“My feet always hurt, but they don’t wearing these even for 12-hour days during this busy fashion season, especially this past weekend when we launched the collaboration at our Holt Renfrew pop-up,” she says. “So, I think that’s a very key feature.”
Priced at $398, the design is available in European shoe sizes 36 to 41.
