- Law Roach styled Keke Palmer during her 2022 pregnancy but was fired after his approach didn’t align with her vision of concealing her baby bump.
- The fashion architect reflected on the experience without resentment, praising her business decision and her self-awareness about what she truly needed from a stylist.
- The pair has told the story multiple times, doubling down on their mutual respect despite the mishap.
Image architect Law Roach has a Rolodex of A-list muses, from Zendaya and Ariana Grande to Kim Kardashian and Céline Dion. All-around funny girl Keke Palmer was one of his famous clients for a minute, too. But I bet you probably didn’t remember that happening.
Allow me to jog your memory: Keke brought Law on as her stylist in 2022, when she was pregnant with her son, Leo. The fashion legend recalled that era in a recent interview, admitting the I Love Boosters star fired him after his styling “didn’t work” for her.
During the October 20 episode of the Aspire with Emma Grede podcast, Law claimed he “wasn’t mad” at Keke for the decision and actually maintained respect for her knowing “exactly who she is and what she wanted.”
“I couldn’t get it right. I couldn’t get it right, and to me, that was personal. I love Keke to death. It wasn’t personal, it was a business decision that she should have made. I couldn’t get it right. I couldn’t get the looks right. I couldn’t get the energy right,” he shared.
He continued, “She made a business decision to fire me, and I love what she said. She called me, she said, ‘You may be the best stylist in the world, but you are not the best stylist for me.’”
“And I said, ‘Well, all right, Keke Palmer,’” he added. “She knows exactly who she is and what she wanted. And I couldn’t deliver, and I’m not mad at that.”
As for where it all went wrong? Law claimed that she intentionally wanted to keep her pregnancy a secret, but he was eager to dress up and accentuate her baby bump as opposed to hiding it.

“Which was her choice, but I couldn’t. Because for me, I’m like, ‘Oh, you pregnant? I wanna dress the bump, and I wanna do these things,’” Law shared. “And I was excited about that, and I had the stories to tell about that, and she didn’t want that, and she didn’t let me. But it was her experience and her decision to tell everybody she was pregnant when she wanted to do it. So I couldn’t get it right.”
It’s all love, though. Law admitted he “tells that story all the time with pride” because “she made a great business decision” for herself. And he wasn’t lying—he told the exact story on a panel with Keke herself back in October 2024, per Page Six.
The pair discussed it again on her Baby, This Is Keke Palmer podcast, where she confirmed there was no bad blood between them. “Law, I love you so bad,” Keke gushed at the time.
“I was so disappointed when our situation happened,” Law admitted, “because when people come to me, they come expecting the best.”
“Like when you go to the best restaurant, you expect the best service, the best food. When you stay in the best hotel, you expect the best service, the best quality, everything; that’s what you’re paying for,” he added. “And you are disappointed when that’s not delivered to you…I’m disappointed that I wasn’t able to give that to you.”
Welp. Nothing to see here, but stunning looks and an occasional read from Law and Keke!
