Arch Manning has spent much of his football career under a spotlight few college quarterbacks experience.
As the nephew of Peyton and Eli Manning, he entered Texas with enormous expectations.

Now, after a crucial victory over Ole Miss, Manning has offered an interesting perspective on the pressure surrounding his career.
“I have been hyped up all my life, preseason and all of that stuff. I kind of like being disregarded and counted out,” Manning stated via CJ Vogel.
Manning made this statement after No. 19 Texas defeated No. 7 Ole Miss 34-27 on Saturday. The Longhorns snapped a two-game losing streak and earned a much-needed victory after facing criticism over their recent performances.
The quarterback delivered a mixed performance. He completed 18 of 30 passes for 212 yards and one touchdown. Manning also rushed for two scores, including the go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Texas appeared to be cruising after building a 24-3 halftime lead. However, Ole Miss stormed back in the second half and tied the game at 24. Manning responded by leading an 80-yard drive, finishing it with a one-yard touchdown run to restore the Longhorns' advantage.
Sarkisian also praised Manning's response to the criticism that followed Texas' two-game losing streak. The coach had challenged his quarterback to play with greater confidence before the Ole Miss matchup, and Manning delivered when the Longhorns needed him most.
“When he shows that fire in his belly that he had tonight, I think the team responds to that,” Sarkisian said, as per ESPN.
Still, the matchup showed that there's a lot of work to be done. Manning gave positive hope that he could respond in a high-pressure moment, and Texas kept its hopes of a strong finish alive. The bigger challenge will be turning this performance into consistency.
