Zamfara govt organises orientation for Imams, pastors

The Zamfara State Government, in collaboration with the National Orientation Agency (NOA), with support from the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), has organised an orientation workshop for Imams and pastors in the state.

The orientation, which was flagged off on Tuesday at Jaiz Hotel, Gusau, was organised by the Zamfara State Ministry of Information and Culture, in collaboration with the Ministry of Religious Affairs and NOA, with support from UNICEF in the state.

The programme was aimed at giving orientation to religious leaders on “Faith for Life” in Zamfara.

In his remarks, the Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Alhaji Suleiman Adamu Gummi, emphasised the need for both Imams and pastors to gear more efforts towards sensitising what family means and the duty bound for both families.

“Imams of Mosque through the Ministry for Religious Affairs and pastors through CAN leadership were drawn and selected from the 14 Local Government Areas (LGAs) for the orientation on Faith for Life in the state,” he mentioned.
