Chicken brand bhc is accelerating its territorial expansion in the North American market, making its first foray into the state of Pennsylvania. Dining Brands Group announced on Oct. 23 the opening of the Elkins Park location, the brand's 11th store in the United States.
The newly opened Elkins Park store is situated within Yorktown Plaza, a mixed-use shopping center in Pennsylvania. The store spans approximately 165 square meters (50 pyeong), with the site selected based on the high foot traffic characteristic of the surrounding commercial district.
bhc has placed both its domestically proven signature menu items and locally tailored offerings at the forefront. In addition to established fan favorites such as Ppuringkle and Matzzoking chicken, the store features combo menus pairing wings and tenders, cuts preferred by local customers. A platter menu that allows diners to enjoy chicken and cheese balls together in a single order has also been introduced to broaden customer choices.
A parallel strategy to promote Korean flavors is also in place. Representative Korean dishes such as tteokbokki and kimchi fried rice have been incorporated into the menu, and a total of eight different dipping sauces are offered in recognition of American dining culture's preference for sauce-based accompaniments.
The latest opening suggests that bhc's North American strategy has entered a full-fledged phase. The brand has secured seven new U.S. locations this year alone, aggressively broadening its geographic footprint.
Jesse Jang, bhc's U.S. operations manager, stated, "We will accelerate our push into the U.S. market by operating stores that reflect local commercial characteristics and consumer demand."
