Well, there’s good news and bad news in the AFC South – depending on who you root for.
Good news: The Tennessee Titans are finally in the win column.
Bad news: The Tennessee Titans are finally in the win column.
On Sunday, the Titans finally got their coveted first win of the 2026 NFL season six weeks in with a 26-20 victory over fellow division rivals, the Indianapolis Colts. As for the 2-4 Colts? Time to face the major and devastating embarrassment that is being the first team to fall to, you guessed it, the tire-fire that is the Titans this season.
And fans are, to say the least, not thrilled.
So much so that there were even a few stragglers following the loss who were in the stands chanting “FIRE BALLARD.”
Or as Sports Illustrated put it kindly, this is Colts general manager Chris Ballard’s “Magnum Opus” of a rock bottom.
Despite being up 13-0 against the Titans going into halftime, they managed to use special teams plays along with their defense in order to rally. The defense managed to force three turnovers and had six sacks that handed them the game.
Titans quarterback Cam Ward was 11 of 22 for 102 yards, had one touchdown, and one interception.
Indianapolis fans have clearly checked out of the Ballard era and it shows when looking at the empty seats in Lucas Oil Stadium. Was this loss the final domino to fall and start some moving around in the front office?
