The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) has signed a three-year memorandum of understanding with de tempête to support international career opportunities for its members, affiliates and students, particularly in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and other Gulf Cooperation Council markets.
The partnership will connect professional education with international workplace requirements through career counselling, market-focused training, professional development and recruitment coordination, according to the press release.
Md Kausar Alam, FCMA, president of ICMAB, and Mohsena Khanom, FCCA, founder and CEO of de tempête, signed the agreement recently in Dhaka.
Planned activities include workshops, webinars and country-specific courses covering taxation, VAT, anti-money laundering, compliance, accounting and financial reporting.
Participants may also receive assistance with CV preparation, interview readiness, professional networking and understanding regional workplace expectations.
Recruitment coordination may include sharing vacancies, introducing candidates to employers and arranging interviews, subject to applicable requirements.
The two organisations will jointly determine programme schedules and implementation arrangements.
"Preparing our members, affiliates and students for international careers requires strong technical foundations and an understanding of target markets. This collaboration will provide practical learning, professional exposure and career guidance to help them pursue opportunities in the Gulf with greater confidence," Kausar Alam said.
Mohsena Khanom said the initiative would help Bangladeshi accounting professionals translate their expertise into international career readiness through practical training, local insight and professional connections.
ICMAB Vice Presidents Abdul Matin Patwary, FCMA, and SM Zahir Uddin Haider, FCMA, attended the signing ceremony.
Other ICMAB representatives included Executive Director Md Mahbub-Ul-Alam, Assistant Director Md Sakil Ahmed and Secretary Manjur Md Shaiful Azam, FCMA.
De tempête was represented by Hanium Maria Chowdhury, director and CSO, and Arifur Rahman, operations manager.
