Packers Get Micah Parsons Update Before Matchup Against His Former Cowboys Team

Before the start of the 2026 NFL season, there was some initial hope that Green Bay Packers pass rusher Micah Parsons could return to the field for a primetime "Sunday Night Football" matchup against his former Dallas Cowboys team in Week 6.

But as that Week 6 matchup quickly approaches, that possibility gets increasingly less likely.

Parsons, who suffered a torn ACL in Week 15 of the 2025 season, is not expected to return to practice for the Packers at any point this week, according to a report from ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter.

"Packers are not anticipating that their standout pass rusher Micah Parsons will return to practice this week as Green Bay prepares for Sunday night’s game vs. the Dallas Cowboys, per sources. There still is uncertainty about exactly when Parsons will return from his knee injury, but the hope still remains it will be this month," Schefter reported on Monday.

The Packers are coming off a dominant Week 5 win over the division-rival Chicago Bears, notching 31-7 final score at Lambeau Field. Green Bay is now 3-2 entering Sunday night's primetime clash against the Cowboys.

Parsons' next opportunity to return to the field is a Week 7 matchup against the Detroit Lions.
