Sivam Ortho Hospital has installed an Artificial Intelligence-based robotic system for knee replacement surgeries.
According to a press release, the robotic system leverages AI for detailed pre-surgical planning, real-time intraoperative guidance and accurate implant positioning. By utilising patient-specific anatomical data, the system enables surgeons to plan and execute knee replacement procedures with accuracy, ensuring optimal alignment, improved balance and personalised surgical execution.
V. Sivakumar, founder and director, Sivam Ortho Hospital, said, “Our goal is to integrate robotic precision with surgical expertise to optimise implant positioning, alignment and soft-tissue balance, with the aim of improving joint stability and function.”
Robotic knee replacement surgeries supported by this platform offer advantages over conventional techniques, including higher precision, minimal soft-tissue damage, reduced post-operative pain, faster recovery and improved implant longevity, the release said.
