PUTRAJAYA: The cabinet has agreed to rebrand the PeKa B40 programme as PeKa Sihat, with measures being drawn up to improve its effectiveness and ease congestion at public health clinics.
Government spokesman Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil said the Health Ministry was coordinating several proposed changes, including the use of premises and clinics participating in the programme.
"The cabinet agreed to amend the Health Ministry's PeKa B40 programme, taking into account its effectiveness in addressing non-communicable diseases.
"The programme will be rebranded as PeKa Sihat, and the Health Ministry will announce the details in due course," he said at his weekly post-cabinet press conference here today.
PeKa B40, established under the Health Ministry and administered by ProtectHealth Corporation, offers several benefits, including health screenings, medical equipment assistance worth up to RM20,000, cancer treatment incentives and transport allowances.
The programme is automatically available to eligible Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah recipients aged 40 and above.
