Bo Bryan, the son of country music star Luke Bryan, exited Battle Ground Academy's (TN) game against Pope John Paul II (TN) Friday night with an apparent shoulder injury.
Nick Gray and George Robinson of the Tennessean, part of the USA TODAY Network, reported the injury happened during BGA's opening drive of the game. On third down, Bryan was sacked and landed hard on his right shoulder.
After some time off of the field, he returned to the sideline with his arm in a sling and shoulder heavily wrapped.
Coming into the night, Bo Bryan had been putting up monster numbers and appeared to be one of the favorites in Tennessee's Division II-AA Mr. Football race.
Leading BGA to a 6-1 record through its first seven games in his first full year as a starter, Bo had completed 74% of his passes for 2,006 yards and 30 touchdowns with only three interceptions.
In back-to-back games, he set career highs in touchdown passes. He set a new career high with six in the Wildcats' 41-36 win over Franklin Road Academy (TN) on Sept. 25 and followed it up with seven touchdown passes a week later in the 56-7 win over Davidson Academy (TN).
A three-star prospect according to 247Sports, Bryan holds college offers from Austin-Peay, Eastern Kentucky, North Alabama and Tennessee Martin.
