Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has dissolved the State Executive Council, including all commissioners and other political appointees who served during his first term.
This is coming ahead of the governor’s inauguration for a second term in office on October 16.
The dissolution, which affected members of the 2022–2026 Executive Council, excluded the Chief Press Secretary, Yinka Oyebode; the Chief of Staff, Niyi Adebayo; and the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Habitat Adubiaro, who will retain their positions.
The governor announced the dissolution during the valedictory meeting of the council on Monday in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.
Oyebanji expressed appreciation to the outgoing council members for their support, dedication and commitment to the service of the state, saying their contributions were critical to the achievements recorded by his administration in the last four years.

The governor commended them for their roles in implementing government policies and programmes, which he said had contributed to the development agenda of his administration.
The development comes ahead of the commencement of Oyebanji’s second term, which signals a possible reconstitution of the State Executive Council as the administration prepares for another four years in office.
