Former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs had the longest touchdown catch of his career in the first quarter of the New England Patriots' 26-19 win over the New York Jets on Sunday, Oct. 18.
But it came with a cost.
Doubs was injured on the catch.
The 26-year-old, who is in his first season with the Patriots after spending the first four years of his career with the Packers, suffered a shoulder injury as he made the diving grab and had to leave the game.
Here's the latest on Doubs:
Romeo Doubs injury update
Doubs was initially questionable to return after the injury but the team later ruled him out.
Asked after the game about whether Doubs could play in the team's next game, head coach Mike Vrabel wasn't confident in that.
The Patriots play on "Thursday Night Football" on Oct. 22.
"Hard to say, it’s a short week," Vrabel said. "But if you don’t finish the game, that’s a hard turnaround."
Doubs has now been downgraded to out for the remainder of today's game. https://t.co/ISYyoH8USr
