Some bad news for you, friends: Love Island USA fans think that season 8’s Aniya Harvey and Carl Schmidt may have called it quits—and while the two haven’t confirmed anything yet, I must say the evidence is pretty convincing.
The fandom first became suspicious after Aniya was asked about her relationship with Carl at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on October 18 and gave a somewhat lukewarm response. “Me and Carl are good,” she told E! News. “We’re really just focused on our work right now and just building that up, so I’m just really happy to be here at Victoria’s Secret and just see the show.”
It’s giving...deflection.
Not long after, fans noticed (as captured by meyechelgossips) that Kayda Bosse is seemingly no longer following Carl on Instagram...And neither is Aniya’s sister, Asia Harvey.
However! Though Meyechel Gossips claimed that Aniya’s other sister, Angel Harvey, had unfollowed Carl as well, Angel slid into the comments section to deny this.
“I literally follow Carl I’m confused!!!” she wrote.

As a reminder: Though Aniya and Carl continued seeing each other after their time at the Villa, they never actually became boyfriend and girlfriend (as far as the public knows, anyway). The two confirmed this on Watch What Happens Live soon after the season 8 finale, where they were straight-up asked about their post–Love Island status.
“No, so we are not officially boyfriend/girlfriend yet,” Carl told host Andy Cohen. “I came in late, I came during Casa Amor, so we had a couple weeks to get to know each other, and I honestly feel after two weeks the connection is really strong and we just feel really really happy. We just kinda want to keep rolling that as long as we can.”
Aniya and Carl last posed for a photo together on August 18, sharing a joint ad for Poppi on Instagram, and they also starred in a Samsung ad together that went live in September. As far as updates, Aniya opened up to Elite Daily about where she and Carl stood just about a month ago.
“We talk about moving all the time,” Aniya said at the time. “He’s currently trying to decide if he wants to move to L.A. or New York. I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do. I haven’t decided yet. We don’t want to rush anything, especially with the pressure of being on the show. But we talk to each other every day and have really good communication.”
I guess only time will tell whether Carniya is no more!
