Real Madrid and Spanish football icon Sergio Ramos has this weekend been tipped for what would be a surprise return to top-level football in his home country.
This comes amid speculation linking the veteran defender with a potential move to Getafe.
The board at the Estadio Coliseum have turned heads across the Spanish football landscape with their efforts on the free agent market over recent weeks.
After first snapping up former Real Madrid star Dani Carvajal, the Azulones have also launched a head-turning pursuit of English winger Jadon Sancho.
Speaking during an appearance on Radio Nacional program Tablero Deportivo (as cited by Marca) on Sunday, Getafe president Ángel Torres was therefore drawn on recent links with the aforementioned Sergio Ramos, too.
And the Spaniard did not rule out the possibility of a deal for the 40-year-old, explaining:
“His brother, his agent, has been talking to me. We have six centre-backs; it wasn’t a position (we needed players)… the manager needed wingers, but it’s not too late; he’s on the list of potential signings.”
