NEW YORK CITY: Rapper Sean "Diddy" Combs was reportedly rushed to hospital after suffering a head injury at the federal prison in New Jersey where he is serving a 50-month sentence.
The 56-year-old music mogul was taken by ambulance from the Federal Correctional Institution at Fort Dix at around 1am on Saturday (Oct 10) for treatment of what was described as a "non-life-threatening" injury, according to TMZ.
The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear.
Combs was reportedly conscious and able to speak when he returned to the prison before sunrise on Saturday. Further details about the injury and his treatment have not been disclosed.
A representative for Combs told Page Six that his team was seeking to establish what happened.
"We are aware of the reports concerning Sean Combs and are working to confirm the circumstances," the spokesperson said.
"Sean's health and well-being are our immediate concern, and we appreciate everyone who has reached out," the representative added.
The reported hospital visit comes amid renewed scrutiny of Combs' prison conditions following claims in an NBC News report that he had received special treatment from fellow inmates, including massages, prepared meals and help with cleaning and laundry.
The report also alleged that he had access to a contraband cellphone and alcohol.
Combs' representative previously disputed portrayals of his prison life, saying media coverage had exaggerated ordinary details of his incarceration.
The rapper is serving his sentence after being convicted in 2025 on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.
He was acquitted of more serious charges, including racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking.
His projected release date has changed several times and is now reportedly scheduled for March 2, 2028. Combs continues to await a decision on his appeal, according to his representative, who said he remained focused on serving his sentence and eventually spending time with his family.
