FAMU has won seven straight homecoming games but come into this one 2-5 (1-2 in SWAC) after a 27-17 loss at Jackson State. The Rattlers held the lead entering the fourth quarter but surrendered the deciding touchdown, then fumbled on their next drive and allowed another TD. Quarterback Armond Parker came back to earth after some strong starts, going 11 of 27 for 163 yards and three interceptions.
APB fell to 3-3 (1-2) after a 21-15 loss to Alabama State snapped its two-game win streak. Jack Schierholz threw for 243 yards and a touchdown to D'Avery Robinson with 107 going to Demetric Whitlock Jr., but the QB's two fourth-quarter INTs doomed the Golden Lions' chances at a comeback.

The Golden Lions are one of the best overall rush teams in the SWAC, ranking third on the ground both on offense (206.7 yards per game) and defense (133 ypg allowed). They've got three running backs with at least 200 yards this season, led by Za'Marion Webber with 340 yards and three touchdowns. In contrast, FAMU fields the conference's worst rushing offense (71.7 ypg, bottom-three in all of Division I) and its worst rushing defense (226.1 ypg allowed).
Fortunately for the Rattlers, APB's pass defense ranks as the third worst in all of Division I, allowing 311.2 ypg through the air. Parker had been a revelation after being pushed into service before his meltdown at Jackson State, though his interception numbers had been steadily rising week over week. If he can avoid turnovers, even if FAMU falls behind, it should have no problems playing catch-up by going over the top.
