The Tampa Bay Rays are one win away from making the World Series, and they are looking on course to get it in Game 6. Slugger Junior Caminero hit a massive two-run home run in the seventh inning to give the Rays a commanding 5-1 lead.

It was Caminero’s first home run of the postseason, and he showed just how much it meant to him. He unleashed an epic celebration, looking to the euphoric crowd and thumping his chest near first base as the Rays close in on the American League pennant.
ESPN insider Jeff Passan put it perfectly with his post on X, formerly Twitter, saying, “This is how you celebrate a home run in a game that could send you to the World Series. Junior Caminero is ready.”
Caminero was the Rays’ top hitter in the regular season, blasting 42 home runs with 101 RBIs. But he had struggled mightily in the postseason. Aside from not hitting a single home run prior to Game 6, he also had a .233 average with just two RBIs.
But despite Caminero’s lack of production, Rays manager Kevin Cash still liked what he saw from his top slugger. In Game 4, Cash noted that Caminero was still getting good at-bats and very nearly got a home run on a well-hit ball that was miraculously caught by Petey Halpin.
Now, Caminero has joined the other members of the Rays’ Big 3, Yandy Diaz and Jonathan Aranda, in finally breaking through their slumps. Should the Rays succeed in taking down the Guardians, it bodes well for them heading to the World Series that their stars are back to playing to their potential.
