The Madurai District Police hosted a special weapons and equipment exhibition on Tuesday morning on the Armed Reserve ground to observe Police Commemoration Day and pay homage to personnel who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.
The event, organised under the leadership of Madurai District Superintendent of Police N. Devanathan, was formally inaugurated by the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) of Madurai Range, Abhinav Kumar.
The exhibition gave students, media personnel, and members of the general public an up-close look at the modern hardware, tactical gear, and technological equipment utilised by law enforcement.
Beyond showcasing weaponry, police officials used the platform to educate visitors on the rigorous duties, public safety initiatives, and ultimate sacrifices undertaken by police personnel to protect society.
A large turnout of school students and local residents visited the grounds throughout the day, engaging with officers and gaining a deeper appreciation for the police force’s commitment to community welfare under the district’s motto, “Namma Madurai… Namma Police.”
