The Green Bay Packers improved to 4-2 on the season with a 23-13 win over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night.
It wasn't Green Bay's best effort, as they had plenty of missed opportunities in the game, but they did enough to secure the win. Jordan Love finished the game completing 23 of 41 passes for 276 yards, a touchdown, and an interception. He also rushed for a touchdown on a quarterback sneak.
Love's numbers could've been much better, as Matthew Golden dropped two touchdowns and Christian Watson dropped a touchdown. It was still a quality game from their top two weapons, as Golden had six receptions for 104 yards and a touchdown, while Watson had three receptions for 64 yards.
Savion Williams also made an impact in the receiving game upon his return from injured reserve, catching four passes for 32 yards.
Green Bay once again couldn't get anything going in the run game, as they rushed for 59 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries as a team (2.5 yards per carry).
Love carried the offense, making a ton of great decisions and leading the offense on some productive drives. They could've scored more, as they had drops and penalties, but the Packers came away with the win.
The defense was the real story for Green Bay as they held Dallas to 13 points despite their talented offense led by CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens.
Lamb finished with nine receptions for 70 yards, while Pickens had six receptions for 73 yards. Lamb and Pickens are one of the best receiving duos in the league, but the Packers were able to contain them.
Jonathan Gannon's defense played at a high level, disguising their coverages and confusing Dak Prescott. Brandon Cisse and Evan Williams picked him off, while Lukas Van Ness sacked him once, and the team had seven quarterback hits.
Green Bay's defensive backs were also very disruptive with eight pass deflections. The defense struggled with penalties, including three roughing-the-passer penalties, which could've proven costly. The Packers will need to clean that up, as teams will take advantage if it becomes a consistent issue.
Rookie kicker Trey Smack was much better just a week after missing two field goals and an extra point. Smack made all three field goal attempts and both extra points in the win.
Green Bay has some issues to clean up, but they should carry some momentum with their three-game winning streak into their matchup against the Detroit Lions next week.
