Woori Management, a housing complex management company, has wrapped up a children's drawing contest held under the theme "The Future of Apartment Elevators," selecting a total of 30 winners.
Woori Management said on the 16th that the fourth Woori Management Children's Drawing Contest drew a total of 719 entries. The figure is up 20.8%, or 124 entries, from 595 a year earlier.
Hosted by Woori Management and organized by the Housing Life Research Institute, the contest was held in August this year under the theme "The Future of Apartment Elevators That I Create." Children aged 8 to 13 living in some 1,400 housing complexes managed by the company across the country took part, using drawings to express their imagination of future elevators and ideas for safe communal living.
Woori Management evaluated entries on relevance to the theme, originality and overall execution, selecting 30 winners in total, including two grand prize recipients, six top excellence awards, 12 excellence awards and 10 encouragement awards. The awards ceremony will be held on the 14th of next month at the company's headquarters in Anyang, Gyeonggi Province, along with an exhibition of the winning works.
"We have been holding this drawing contest for four years now so that children can learn etiquette for living in housing complexes and develop sound values," Woori Management Chairman Noh Byung-yong said. "We will continue to work to create a safe and happy residential environment in apartments."
