Fresh off their bye week, the Carolina Panthers (2-2) head to Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday looking to continue their early-season momentum as they take on the Philadelphia Eagles (2-3). Carolina enters Week 6 in first place in the NFC South, one half game ahead of the Falcons (2-3). The Panthers boast one of the league’s most productive offenses, averaging just over 30 points per game behind a breakout season from quarterback Bryce Young. Losers of three in a row, a banged-up Philadelphia is reeling a bit following a brutal loss in London this past weekend, 19-17 to Jacksonville.
Prior to their bye, the Panthers outlasted the Bears in Charlotte, 32-26. The aforementioned Young threw for 329 yards and a couple touchdowns, Tetairoa McMillan caught 14 balls for 192 yards including both Young touchdown passes and Chuba Hubbard ran for 122 yards and two scores in the win. Bryce Young has now thrown for 1268 yards including nine touchdowns and just two interceptions through four games this season. Philadelphia’s most recent outing was a head-scratcher. With a patchwork offensive line and numerous skill position players sidelined, the Eagles somehow managed to take a lead over Jacksonville in London, 17-16 with eight seconds to play in the fourth quarter. The Eagles elected not to kick off through the endzone…as well as tackle kick returner Ameer Abdullah until he had rambled 53 yards to the Philly 39-yard line with one second to play. Cam Little then came on to drill a game-winning 57-yard field goal as the Eagles snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. Prior to the mayhem in the final moments, Jalen Hurts threw for 220 yards and a touchdown to Darius Cooper. Minus the injured Saquon Barkley, the Eagles rushed for a paltry 22 yards in the game.
While Philadelphia’s long list of injuries tops this game’s storylines, the play under center for each team will be noteworthy. Bryce Young appears to be taking a major step forward in his third NFL season as the Panthers’ offense is currently one of the league’s most explosive. Jalen Hurts has been either really good this season (two games) or subpar (three games). It is no coincidence that the poor performances have coincided with the Birds’ three-game losing streak. A third storyline to pay attention to is the turnover battle. Carolina enters the week with a +3 turnover differential while Philadelphia has coughed the ball up two more times than it has taken the ball away.
The Eagles have dominated this series winning 11 of the 13 all-time meetings including each of the last five. Their most recent meeting came on December 8, 2024, when Philadelphia escaped with a 22-16 victory. In the past, Sunday would be a get right spot for Philly, but Carolina takes the field with a substantial rest advantage and playing better football. There is something to be said however, about a desperate football team and the Eagles should be desperate come the weekend.
Let’s dive into the numbers and see if we can’t find an additional sweat or two.

Here are the best bets our model is projecting for Sunday’s game between the Panthers and the Eagles:
- Moneyline: NBC Sports is leaning towards a play on the Panthers on the Moneyline.
- Spread: NBC Sports is recommending a play on the Panthers +1.5.
- Total: NBC Sports is leaning towards a play on the Game Total OVER 41.5.
Here’s why the Panthers +1.5 is the best bet:
Philadelphia’s point differential is -18. Their offense ranks 26th in points scored, 28th in total yards, and 29th in passing yards, and they’re missing Saquon Barkley and DeVonta Smith. Carolina’s point differential is +12. They rank fourth in points scored and first in passing yards. Their rest advantage in this game is real — the Panthers are 3-3 ATS with the rest advantage under Head Coach Dave Canales, while the Eagles are 9-11 ATS at a rest disadvantage under Head Coach Nick Sirianni.
