The Radio Bulgaria team welcomed special guests from Italy to the Bulgarian National Radio building. The cold October afternoon did nothing to dampen the spirits of the children and teachers from Abagar Bulgarian Sunday School, which has branches in Rome, Nettuno and Ladispoli. They entered BNR’s historic home with curious eyes and broad smiles. The visit came on the first day of their second trip to Bulgaria in 2026 under the national programme “Bulgaria – Educational Routes”.
Bulgaria is somewhere you can always return to and feel at home, say the pupils of Abagar Bulgarian Sunday School. Their headteacher, Natalia Bosolova, tells us more:
“Our first trip was to the Rhodope Mountains in August, and now we are in Sofia. So far, the children have been particularly impressed by St Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. Our trip continues with visits to the Church of St Nicholas and St Panteleimon in Boyana and the National History Museum, a visit to Saints Cyril and Methodius Secondary School in Pernik, and the National Ethnographic Museum at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. We finish with a visit to Vrana Palace.”
