Angel Resee and the Atlanta Dream let Game 1 of the WNBA Finals “slip away” as they failed to hold onto their fourth quarter lead.
They look determined not to make the same mistake again in Game 2, though, as Jordin Canada showed with her buzzer-beating 3-pointer from the logo.

The Dream guard dribbled quickly down the court before pulling up from midcourt to bank in the bucket. That shot gave the Dream a commanding 14-point lead heading into the fourth quarter.
Jordin Canada has been one of the Dream’s most consistent performers during this postseason run. She reached double-digits in points in each of her first five playoff games and is one of the team’s top playoff scorers.
However, her influence as blunted by the Golden State Valkyries’ defense in Game 1 as she was limited to just eight points in 38 minutes. The return of backcourt mate Allisha Gray from her hand injury provided a timely boost, although Gray was understandably rusty as she shot just 5 of 19.
Angel Reese also had a somewhat understated Game 1 by her high standards, finishing with just 14 points and 12 rebounds. But the Dream star was on a mission in Game 2. She surpassed her Game 1 points total by halftime as she racked up 15 points and seven rebounds in an amazing first-half performance.
Led by her fine play, the Dream managed to tie up the WNBA Finals at 1-1. Aside from her halfcourt heave, though, Jordin Canada still struggled with her shot as she went just 3 of 13 for 12 points. Atlanta will need Canada to get back to her best for the remainder of the series if they are to overcome the Valkyries in the end.
