KUALA LUMPUR: Perikatan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar has questioned whether Bersatu is still committed to the coalition, citing developments since the Negri Sembilan state election.
He said Bersatu had been invited to tonight's emergency PN supreme council meeting and that it was up to the party to attend.
"With what has happened lately, since the Negri Sembilan election, does Bersatu still its heart in Perikatan Nasional?"
"But as far as the meeting goes, it can go ahead. They can come. We said we invited Bersatu to come to the meeting. It's up to them," he told reporters before the meeting at Pas headquarters here.
Asked about Bersatu's claim that the meeting could not be held, Samsuri merely said: "Ah, that's their view."
Earlier today, Bersatu secretary-general Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali warned that the meeting could carry serious legal implications as the coalition's registration had been cancelled.
