DONCASTER Rovers have bolstered their forward department with the short-term signing of former Hull City striker Will Keane – after Frankie Okoronkwo suffered an injury setback.
Former Republic of Ireland international Keane, 33, who left Preston North End at the end of last season, has joined until January.
The move transpired after Rovers were granted special dispensation by the EFL to replace Okoronkwo on their 22-man squad list.
The former Everton player, who has not played this season due to an injury, is now expected to be sidelined until the new year following a relapse on his road back following hamstring surgery.

Keane, inset, brings a wealth of experience, having played in the Championship for the likes of Ipswich Town, Wigan, Preston and Sheffield Wednesday.
He spent the second half of last term on loan at Reading.
The Stockport-born player boasts an impressive record in the third tier, having scored 26 league goals to fire Wigan to the League One title in 2022, claiming the division’s Golden Boot in the process.
Rovers chief Grant McCann said: "Will is a proven goalscorer at this level, having won the Golden Boot at Wigan and he’s also played in the Championship.

"He’s hungry to come in, play football and prove himself, and we’re really pleased to have him here.
"He’s been working hard to maintain his fitness, including completing a 12-week camp with the PFA.
"He’s continued training since then, and we’re looking forward to getting him working with the group. He’s a good option for us.
"Frankie has unfortunately suffered a setback just as he was getting close to returning, but we believe in him and see him as an important part of our long-term plans.
"We don’t need to rush him back.
"The priority is making sure he has the time and support he needs to recover fully, and this gives him the opportunity to focus on that without any added pressure.
"Will’s arrival gives us another option in attack.
"He’s a good character and a good footballer, and we believe he can make a positive contribution between now and January.”
Rovers travel to Leicester City in League 1 on Saturday.
