The Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has planned five feeder routes for the upcoming Namma Metro Pink Line, with 30 buses expected to operate 415 trips a day at a frequency of 10 minutes on each route.
The routes will connect metro stations at Jayadeva Hospital, J.P. Nagar 4th Phase, Tavarekere and Hulimavu to surrounding areas, including Uttarahalli, BTM Layout, Arekere, Bilekahalli, Begur lake and Singasandra.
The BMTC said it is also working with the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) to provide real-time information on bus arrivals at the Pink Line metro stations. Under the arrangement, passengers will be able to check when the BMTC buses are expected to arrive at nearby bus stops. The bus arrival information will be made available through data-sharing and integration between the two corporations. The facility is still in the planning stage.
The BMTC currently operates three feeder services connecting areas along the upcoming Pink Line to other parts of the metro network. These services together account for 132 trips a day using nine buses.
