KARACHI: Advocate Jibran Nasir, counsel for the family of slain Mir Raza, has written to the chief minister and chief secretary of Sindh, demanding the complete inquiry commission report and recommendations and the formation of a new joint investigation team (JIT) to reinvestigate the case, ARY News reported.
In his 10-page letter, which contains more than 50 points, Jibran Nasir called for a new JIT comprising federal and provincial officers who had no previous involvement in the case.
The letter states that the parents of the deceased have demanded access to the commission’s complete report and recommendations. The family has also requested the formation of a new investigation team to ensure a fresh probe into the case.
Jibran Nasir said his clients reject any attempt to alter the findings of the special medical board. He added that the family had been facing uncertainty and investigative irregularities for months.
The lawyer said the letter was written as a continuation of his correspondence dated August 19, 2026.
He said his clients appreciated the establishment of the inquiry commission and the transparency of its proceedings. However, they have requested a copy of the commission’s recommendations and final report.
The letter urges the Sindh government to provide the findings to the victim’s family as soon as the final report is submitted. It also calls on the provincial government to understand the sensitivity of the matter and take immediate and decisive action.
Jibran Nasir stressed the need for a fresh investigation involving officers who had no prior connection with the case.
