Markets have always been good at pricing assets and poor at pricing questions; with XPredict, XT Exchange brings the instrument that closes that gap into an ordinary account.
Markets are often described as information machines. The description is only partly earned. A conventional market is extremely good at aggregating opinion about one specific thing: what an asset is worth right now. Everything else it appears to say about the world is inference.
An interest-rate expectation can be read out of bond prices, but only indirectly, and only by someone willing to make assumptions about what else is moving. A view about whether a company will ship a product on time might show up in its share price, mixed with a dozen unrelated factors. The market has an opinion. It cannot state it cleanly, because the instrument was not built to carry that question.
Event markets are built to carry exactly that question. A proposition is defined, two outcomes are made tradable, and the price becomes a continuously updated indication of how participants are pricing that proposition. That is a real expansion in what a market can express.
The mechanism is familiar. People with different information and different confidence levels take opposing positions, and the price settles where supply meets demand. What changes is the subject. Instead of discovering the price of an asset, the market discovers the collective expectation about a stated outcome: whether a published economic figure will exceed a threshold by a certain date, whether a scheduled decision will go one way, whether a sporting result will occur. These are questions that previously lived in commentary, surveys and argument, where they stayed unpriced and largely unaccountable.
Attaching a price does something specific to an opinion. It makes it costly to be wrong, which tends to concentrate the mind, and it aggregates many such opinions into one number that updates as new information arrives. Commentary responds to events with explanation. An event market responds with a revised number, immediately, whether or not anyone has written anything.
XPredict, which XT Exchange launched in May 2026 and describes as powered by Polymarket, brings that mechanism inside an ordinary exchange account. Eligible users can take positions in markets with defined Yes and No outcomes, using balances they already hold. The significance is less the venue than the proximity: expressing a view about an event no longer requires leaving the place where someone manages the rest of their holdings. It is the kind of addition XT has made a habit of, a capability that already works, made reachable from the account people already use.
Understanding what the number means is part of using it well. A price on an event market is an aggregated expectation held by the people currently willing to trade it. It is not a measurement of what will happen, and it is not a forecast in the sense of a studied prediction by someone accountable for accuracy. A market trading at 70 cents on a Yes outcome is saying that, among participants, the balance of willingness sits there now. It will say something different tomorrow, and that responsiveness is the point.
A few things shape how much weight the number can carry. Thin markets reflect the views of fewer people, and a small trade can move the number more. Participants are self-selected rather than representative. And researchers have long documented a tendency for prices on low-probability outcomes to sit higher than the eventual frequency of those outcomes would justify, which makes the far tails of any event market the part to read with the most care.
Read with that in mind, the information is valuable: a live, revisable summary of what a self-selected group of people with money at stake currently believes. It is a distinct kind of signal, and it is available nowhere else.
The useful consequence is that a category of question has become tradable, and therefore observable. Before, a broad expectation about an outcome either stayed unexpressed or had to be approximated through instruments designed for something else. Now it can be held directly, with a defined resolution and a visible price. That gives participants a cleaner way to act on a view, and gives everyone else, including people who never trade these markets, a continuously updated reading of what a group of informed participants expects.
Markets have spent their history telling us what things are worth. Event markets extend that to what people expect to happen in the world those things exist in. It is a precise instrument, bounded by its own wording and its own participants, and it says something no price chart can say on its own.
That is worth having, and knowing what kind of number it is makes it worth more.
