"Illness and disease do not discriminate based on political borders, nationality, or income. Let us unite to ensure that no child and no family is left to face their suffering alone—let us unite for the sake of a prosperous future!" she stated.
The newly established network is intended to provide a platform for cooperation among first ladies and spouses of heads of state, with a focus on children affected by life-threatening conditions, including oncological diseases.
As part of the event, students from Mehrli Maktab, also known as the School of Kindness, delivered a presentation to congress participants. The students shared their personal experiences and conveyed the hopes of children currently undergoing treatment for serious illnesses.
Mirziyoyeva's selection to chair the global network was presented as recognition of Uzbekistan's progress in developing pediatric oncology services. Her appointment was also associated with her activities supporting children with cancer and efforts to expand access to quality medical care. Under the announced arrangement, Mirziyoyeva will serve as chair of the global network for two years.
