Tajikistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned recent attacks on airports and energy infrastructure in Saudi Arabia that reportedly killed and injured civilians, calling for an immediate end to the conflict and a peaceful resolution through negotiations.
In a statement, the ministry expressed concern that the attacks were escalating tensions and undermining efforts to ensure peace and stability in the Middle East.
It also extended condolences to the families of those killed and urged all parties to the conflict to end hostilities as soon as possible and resolve their differences through negotiations.
Saudi Arabia has faced a series of attacks in recent days. On October 10, a missile struck Terminal 3 of King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. According to media reports, the attack killed people and injured more than 300 others, including two Uzbek nationals.
Yemen’s Houthi movement claimed responsibility for the strikes, as well as attacks on Dammam airport and oil and gas infrastructure facilities.
Following the attacks, Saudi authorities suspended operations at Riyadh airport indefinitely.
On October 12, Tajikistan’s Foreign Ministry told Asia-Plus that, according to preliminary information from the Tajik embassy in Saudi Arabia, no Tajik citizens were among those injured in the attack on Riyadh airport.
The embassy is maintaining contact with Saudi authorities and Tajik nationals living in the kingdom.
