DAEGU — iM Financial Group's iM Social Welfare Foundation held a ceremony on the 22nd marking its 15th anniversary, pledging to deepen local partnerships and extend financial services to people of all ages.
The foundation was established as a social welfare corporation in 2011, at the same time as the launch of iM Financial Group, to carry out professional and systematic community programs.
It currently provides support across all age groups — children, adolescents, young adults, middle-aged people and older adults — through programs tailored to each stage of life.
The foundation funds its operations through donations from iM Bank and other affiliates, along with a voluntary employee program in which staff contribute 1% of their salaries.
It has also been expanding participatory programs in which employees join the iM Companion Volunteer Corps and work directly at welfare facilities.
At the ceremony, the foundation also received a Presidential Citation, the first such award since its establishment.
The foundation won the citation on the 2nd of this month, Senior Citizens' Day, in recognition of its financial education programs run at the iM Finance Experience Park, a hands-on financial learning center, and its tailored support for vulnerable groups and social welfare facilities.
"We will listen to the voices of those we serve, reach out first to where help is needed, and expand a range of ESG programs that make the world better through giving," said Hwang Byoung-woo, chairman of the iM Social Welfare Foundation.
