Harry Kane admits Arsenal turned up the pressure to score their second goal

২২/১০/২০২৬

Harry Kane thought he had secured victory for Bayern Munich when he converted a penalty to give the German side a 2-1 lead against Arsenal in the Champions League last night. However, the Gunners refused to accept defeat and fought back to earn a valuable 2-2 draw.

Arsenal had faced a difficult challenge in Munich, with Bayern possessing the quality to punish their opponents. The result could easily have gone against Mikel Arteta’s side, but they showed determination and resilience to avoid another competitive defeat this season.

Kane’s penalty appeared to put Bayern in control, but Arsenal continued pushing for an equaliser. Their persistence eventually paid off when Declan Rice found space and scored eight minutes before the end of normal time.

Kane reflects on Arsenal’s response

Although Bayern looked capable of securing all three points after taking the lead, Arsenal gradually increased the pressure and searched for an opening. The Gunners refused to give up, eventually finding a way past the German side’s defence.

Rice’s equaliser was the reward for their continued efforts, and Kane acknowledged that Arsenal’s response made the final result understandable. Speaking via Sky Sports, the Bayern striker admitted his side would have liked to win but accepted that a draw was fair.

“A little bit of disappointment, but I think a draw was a fair result.

“We looked like the team that was going to go on and win it. They then put us under a bit of pressure and got the goal.

“We can’t be too disappointed. We take the point and move on.”

Arsenal earn a valuable point

Kane’s comments reflect how the match changed after Bayern took the lead. The German side appeared to have the momentum, but Arsenal continued to create pressure and eventually found the breakthrough they needed.

For Arsenal, the draw represents an important result against one of Europe’s strongest teams. Securing a point away from home demonstrates their ability to compete at the highest level, even when facing a difficult situation late in the match.

Bayern will also take positives from their performance, although they may regret allowing Arsenal back into the contest. Kane’s assessment suggests the visitors’ persistence made the difference as the game approached its conclusion.
