Embedded directly within digital banking experiences, ScribeUp combines recurring-payment intelligence with banking context, including balances, cash flow, payment timing and the financial institution’s own products. It enables financial institutions to help consumers take action across billers and their broader banking relationship, going beyond alerting them when a bill is due – whether that means canceling a forgotten subscription, updating a payment form, accessing an advance or refinancing an external loan. Its next-gen agentic technology allows users to take any relevant biller action, on any tracked bill, directly from the end-user’s banking experience.
“Recurring payments are the most frequent interaction a consumer has with their money and the one consumers understand the least,” said Jordan Mackler, CEO and co-founder of ScribeUp. “ScribeUp gives financial institutions the ability to not only surface subscriptions and bills, but to resolve them directly from their banking experience. That’s the difference between a dashboard and a relationship. Institutions that win the recurring layer win a user’s spend and banking primacy. This financing accelerates our ability to put that capability in front of millions more consumers.”
ScribeUp works with more than 60 banks, credit unions, fintechs and neobanks and is pre-integrated with major digital banking platforms. Its technology can be deployed through SDK, iframe or API, enabling institutions to add recurring bill capabilities without building the infrastructure themselves.
“Financial institutions are constantly looking for ways to make digital banking more useful, proactive and connected to customers’ everyday lives,” said Nick Evens, President and Chief Executive Officer at Curql. “We’re excited to support ScribeUp as it addresses that opportunity by bringing AI-powered bill control directly into the banking experience, so institutions can provide this desired functionality, rather than lose this financial relationship to over-the-top consumer apps targeting this gap in today’s banking offering.”
The opportunity is growing as AI assistants and personal financial management platforms increasingly use subscription and bill-management pain points as a gateway into consumers’ broader financial lives. ScribeUp gives financial institutions the infrastructure to deliver that intelligent, action-oriented experience themselves, inside the banks consumers already trust, with access to context and products third-party assistants do not have.
“ScribeUp has built strong momentum by solving a clear and growing problem at the intersection of banking, payments and recurring financial activity,” said Will Hsu, Founding Partner at Mucker Capital. “The company has demonstrated meaningful demand from financial institutions, and we believe it is well positioned to build on that traction as it enters its next stage of growth.”
“Our conviction in ScribeUp comes from experiencing the product firsthand and seeing the value it can create for both our members and our credit union,” said Brian Regan, General Partner at Service Ventures. “That experience gave us confidence in both the strength of the technology and the broader opportunity to bring more clarity and control to recurring spend, all through the financial partner the consumer already trusts.”
The Series A, consisting of $10 million in equity financing and a $3 million venture debt facility, will support ScribeUp’s investment in AI-native intelligence and agentic execution, making the platform more valuable to consumers and financial institutions, as well as continued team expansion and go-to-market strategies.
