A delegation of European diplomats was attacked by Israeli settlers while observing Palestinian farmers harvesting olives in the occupied West Bank. During the incident on October 17, a French mayor, Bernard Bauduc, was assaulted, and his vehicle was damaged. France and Belgium have condemned the attack and demanded that those responsible be brought to justice. While the Israeli police have launched an investigation, the Israeli Prime Minister's Office has requested strong evidence to substantiate the allegations of the attack.
