LeBron James, eternal in the NBA at 41 years old: "He has another 5 or 10 years left at the same level"

Evan Turner, the number 2 pick in the 2010 Draft who played for the Philadelphia 76ers from 2010 to 2014, believes that "LeBron James (41 years old) still has plenty left in the tank".'

The 37-year-old former player, who also worked as an assistant coach for the Boston Celtics, stated that "LeBron has another 5 or 10 years left at the same level, just like Kevin Durant".

I think LeBron James will play for more than two years. He’s not slowing down

Evan Turner

"It's like they're wondering, "Where do I go now?" They have nothing left to do. This is a piece of cake!", he pointed out.

LeBron James had already cemented his legacy long before turning 30

Evan Turner

Evan Turner maintains that "I think LeBron James will play more than two years. He’s not slowing down. If we look at what happened after the first playoff series... he eliminated the Houston Rockets —who have a great coach, Ime Udoka, and great young talent, as well as Kevin Durant and others—, and he managed to lead his team past the first round. That is extremely difficult, especially when you lose your two best players. I think he still has plenty of gas left in the tank".

'Evan Turner: "Knowing LeBron, I'm not sure if he would come back after winning another ring"'

Regarding the possibility of LeBron James winning a fifth ring, which would leave him just one behind Michael Jordan, Turner pointed out that he does not believe James would return if he manages to win another title: "Knowing LeBron, I'm not sure if he would come back after winning another ring, unless he wanted to. He already said, after beating the Warriors, that he considers himself the greatest player of all time, and I think he truly believes it. If we look at the numbers and the statistics... well, I'm from Chicago: for me, Michael Jordan is the greatest in history (G.O.A.T.). No doubt about it. But in the end, it's something personal. What is enough? What does it mean to be the best? He has reached eight straight Finals. Do you understand what I mean? He has accomplished so much. People will not appreciate what he has done until he is no longer around".

'"LeBron James had already cemented his legacy long before turning 30. We all said: "Alright, perfect, his place in history is already secure." We know it clearly: he doesn't need that trophy. There came a point when LeBron is, basically, basketball itself. It's incredible to think that he has been playing for 30 years; it's something absolutely astonishing. But I appreciate everything he has shown, the level he maintains, and the real commitment he has always shown," he emphasized.'

'Evan Turner: "The Sixers have to play chess, not checkers"'

Evan Turner points out that the "superteam" that is LeBron James', which features stars of the caliber of Tyrese Maxey, Jaylen Brown, LeBron James, or Joel Embiid, is already one of the five best teams in the NBA.

The Sixers will do very well, as long as they play the right way and approach the season as they should

Evan Turner

"Without a doubt, the Sixers are one of the top five teams, just because of the talent they have. They possess incredible talent. I've also seen some content in the media, and I like how things are flowing. It seems like LeBron is enjoying his time there. Maxey still has that same smile he's always had. From what little I know of Jaylen Brown, his energy and aura suggest that he's having a good time too. I love what I see in their four main figures," he shared.

Evan Turner believes that "the Sixers will do very well, as long as they play the right way and approach the season as they should. If you aspire to go far in the playoffs and want to be a championship team, you need cohesion. You have to know the details: who you combine best with, which strategies work, and who to turn to in decisive moments," Turner continued.

"They need to play chess, not checkers, and make sure their players are available for the playoffs. Take Joel Embiid, for example. I’d like him to play only about 55 games a year and, hopefully, in those games be on the court for 28 minutes or less. Do you understand what I mean? It’s about limiting his minutes, but making sure the team knows how to play with him on the floor, no matter what. I remember the playoff series against the Celtics, where he had a brilliant performance; however, that lack of preparation, playing time, and chemistry with the team —caused by his constant injuries— ended up taking its toll," he recommended.
