Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke and All India Students' Association (AISA) chief Neha Bora were detained by Delhi Police today (16 October) while heading to Connaught Place to take part in the 'Lehra Do Tiranga' (Wave the National Flag) protest.
Dipke was detained from his home in Jhandewalan, while Bora was picked up from Mandi House, both in Central Delhi.
Their detentions drew crowds, with jostling among people, camera crews and security personnel at the scenes.
Earlier in the day, more than 20 Delhi Police personnel visited Dipke's residence in Jhandewalan and served him a notice directing him to refrain from any action that could prejudice the rights of citizens, traders, commuters, patients and others.
The police action came amid heightened security arrangements in the national capital ahead of the protest scheduled for this evening.
