Few artists have understood the power of a signature look quite like Dolly Parton. The country music legend’s love for towering heels with sparkling embellishments and unapologetically feminine glamour became as recognizable as her voice over the years.
Ella Langley, Carly Pearce and Kristin Chenoweth arrived at the “CMA Presents I Will Always Love You: A Celebration of Dolly Parton” at the Fisher Center for the Performing Arts in Nashville on Wednesday, paying homage to the late star through their sparkly shoes.
Langley reached for one of Parton’s favorite shoe designers, Christian Louboutin, for her shoes. She wore the Christian Louboutin Miss Z Degrastrass Perla pointed-toe pump, featuring a sheer nude mesh and napa leather upper embellished with a gradient of sparkling strass crystals and faux pearls. The shoes featured a short heel measuring 3.5 inches.
Louboutin designed shoes for Parton over the years, and also released a collection of Me Dolly heels that were inspired by and named after the singer. Langley paired the shoes with a vintage Roberto Cavalli Beaded Butterfly Crystal Blush Silk Evening Kimono Dress from his spring 2007 collection.
Pearce and Chenoweth took the stage in alluring metallic and sparkly shoes. Pearce also went for a Christian Louboutin design, opting for the brand’s Iriza pump in a silver metallic laminato. The Iriza is an asymmetrical design with sleek lines and a d’Orsay silhouette.
The side of the shoe is cut away to expose the arch and the side of the foot. It also has an audacious, low-cut vamp and pointed toe that adds a sophisticated finish. They are set on a vertiginous 100-mm heel that reveals the signature Louboutin red sole.
Pearce paired the heels with a long-sleeve sequin minidress featuring feathered cuffs. The Self-Portrait dress was designed with a pleated metallic material and featured a crystal-embellished neckline and dramatic feathered cuffs.
Chenoweth appeared to be wearing the Miu Miu crystal-embellished glass pumps in silver leather. The pointed-toe pumps are adorned with crystal embellishment on the vamp and the counter, which gave the pumps a whimsical and fairy-tale feel.
They are designed with a glass effect, thanks to clear plexiglass that is found on the sides of the shoe, turning them into a glass slipper. She paired the shimmering heels with a Nadine Merabi Lottie Fringe Feather Minidress in white. The dress is trimmed with swingy fringe and a bevy of fluffy feathers.
“CMA Presents I Will Always Love You: A Celebration of Dolly Parton” was a two-hour televised tribute special for the singer who passed away in August. The special aired live on ABC and Disney+ to honor the late country music legend and featured appearances by Katy Perry, Reba, Kelsea Ballerini and more.
