East African Legislative Assembly Member Winnie Odinga has taken a new political direction after announcing she will vie for Nairobi Senator in the 2027 elections.
Winnie, the daughter of the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, made the announcement at Migwena Cultural Grounds on Thursday, October 15, during the one-year commemoration of her father.
"Let it not be a rumour that as Edwin Sifuna searches for higher offices, I see there is some space in Nairobi and that is why I have decided I will vie for Senator of Nairobi county," Winnie Odinga revealed.
She, however, did not make it clear which vehicle she will be vying under, but she warned that there should be no speculation about her riding under Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna's wave in Nairobi, despite Nairobi being predominantly an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) region electorally.
